Bringing Pilates/Yoga to the Workplace

Pilates' exercises strike a balance between strength and flexibility, dramatically reducing the potential for injury. Pilates' exercises also have positive effects on the nervous system, reducing headaches and overall mental tension.

Unlike some other exercise routines, Pilates is low impact, improves strength and flexibility, builds concentration, and reduces mental and physical stress. In addition, Pilates is known to eradicate fatigue and generate energy, leading to increased productivity and morale. Pilates' exercises are simple and can be modified for different skill levels - perfect for the office environment!

Clients also find that the principles learned during a Pilates class can be incorporated in their day-to-day life resulting in

• Improved posture
• Reduction in back and neck pain,
• Less stress and tension
• Increased muscle strength and flexibility
• General feeling of well being
• Increased staff productivity

The details:

Classes are usually structured as a 55-minute class and can be held before, during or after work. We find that the best times to run corporate classes are between 1.30pm and 4.30pm - the ‘coffee slump’ time. This will rejuvenate your workforce for that downhill afternoon slide.

All you need is a space large enough to hold the class that is free from obstacles; well-lit and comfortably ventilated.

We recommend a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 to start the class. This ensures individual attention and feedback by the instructor.

Ideally classes should be a minimum block of 5-weeks to allow for progressive building of knowledge.

Our most popular classes are a mix of pilates core stability & postural work, with some deeper yoga stretching and standing balance work to round-off the class.

Costs:

Classes cost $100 per session to a maximum of 15 clients. One person from the workplace is required to nominate themselves as the organizer and they will be the point of contact with the instructor and The Pilates Academy. Invoices will be issued to a single entity (person or company only). Cash, cheque or EFT payments only.

Cancellations:

A minimum of 24 hours notice must be given for any cancellation or the full fee for that class will be changed.

Equipment:

For hygienic reasons each participant is required to provide their own mat which we can supply at a reduced price. A 15mm x 180 length mat is recommended. These retail for $55. Corporate rates for purchases of 10 or more mats are $50 each.

For enquiries and Bookings:

info@pilatesacademy.com.au or call Terri on 0403 007 317. Pregnant clients will need to speak to their teacher before joining the class as it may not be suitable.
